Hello, Piney Point families—I'm Mrs. Tara Zeier, and I’m delighted to serve as your child’s principal.
This coming 2026–2027 school year marks my 26th year in education. I began my career in Charles County Public Schools, teaching students in grades 2–5 and later serving as an assistant principal. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Fairmont State University (West Virginia) and a Master’s degree in Curriculum Design with Administration from McDaniel College (Westminster, MD).

As the principal of Piney Point Elementary School (PPES), home of the Beacons, I want to welcome you warmly. Our school is dedicated to high academic expectations for every learner. Equally important, we strive to maintain a safe, caring, and inclusive environment where children feel supported to ask questions, take risks, and develop a lifelong love of learning. At PPES, our Beacons shine through kindness, curiosity, and perseverance.

I am honored to partner with you this year. I look forward to working closely with families, teachers, and community members to support each student’s growth—academically, socially, and emotionally.
